We deploy a clear and safe spray application of Fortress fire retardants which provide a thermally responsive, staged reaction scheme that makes for stronger fire barriers and superior fire control.

In addition to our spray application we examine your property and structures and make safety recommendations using Cal Fire defensible space standards and criteria.

The results are in. Burn tests done by the United States Forest Service (USFS) have demonstrated that Fortress fire retardants are more effective than conventional ammonium phosphate.

Self Hydrating

Fortress fire retardants pull moisture from the air and distribute it to fuel. This passive re-hydration mechanism forms an exceptional fire-fuel barrier, and is also what makes our retardants exceptionally durable.

Even before burning occurs, Fortress fire retardants respond to increasing temperatures by absorbing heat and releasing water, effectively cooling wildland fuels and lowering the probability of ignition.

Disrupts Combustion

Unique to our magnesium chloride formulations, Fortress fire retardants release ions that neutralize hydrogen (H•) and hydroxyl (OH•) combustive free radicals, directly interfering with the combustion process.

Delays Ignition

Charring begins at lower temperatures when plant matter burns in the presence of our magnesium chloride fire retardant. Early charring effectively shields foliage from encroaching flames, depriving the fire of its fuel.

FR-600 by Fortress Fire Retardant Systems. It’s a ground sprayed liquid concentrate designed for high-risk fire areas. The product is fully qualified with the USFS (United States Forest Service).

It has a unique magnesium chloride formulation, which means it’s more effective, safer for the environment and more durable than conventional fertilizer-based retardants.

FR-600 protects both structures and vegetation from ignition. It can be applied to landscaping (plants, trees) plus decks, fences, and roofing.

Clear & Odorless Spray Application

The liquid is clear and odorless. It does not stain and is safe for pets, plants and people. It will remain effective for months but must be reapplied after winter rain and snow.
